Squeezy: Condiment Packaging for ease and functionality
Product Design

Duration:
1 month
Individual Project
Squeezing out thick condiments like ketchup, mayonnaise, or honey can often be a frustrating experience, slow flow, messy caps, and wasted leftovers at the bottom of the bottle take away from the joy of mealtime.
This project reimagines the condiment container, aiming to make dispensing faster, cleaner, and more efficient. By reducing waste and simplifying use, it turns a small everyday annoyance into a smoother, more satisfying part of the dining experience.

Existing Packaging
While a variety of condiment packaging options exist, each comes with its own drawbacks—whether it’s being too hard to open, inconvenient to dispense, or inefficient in terms of cost.
Research Findings
A majority of the people prefer using condiments from pouch packaging since it is easier to squeeze out product from the pouch.
Many people find it difficult to use the condiments’ containers with their non-dominant hands and often create a mess while eating.
Sometimes too much product comes out at once, causing wastage and making it hard to put it back into the packaging.
A google survey was conducted wherein many people opine that about 6 - 10% of their condiments get wasted per package

Concept Sketches
Squeezy will be sold to companies that make thick condiments like ketchup, mayonnaise, and more. It’ll follow a B2B model, where the companies will use these containers for their products and brand them in their own style.
Key Takeaways
Squeezy is designed to be sustainable and perfectly in tune with the Indian habit of cleaning and reusing containers. Once the condiment is finished, it’s easy to wash and upcycle, giving it a second life in households while reducing single use waste. This way, it’s not just packaging, it’s a product that keeps on giving.
